Track, Local Lodging and Dining Information
Roebling Road Raceway
Roebling Road Raceway is easily accessible from I-95 near Savannah, Ga. or from I-16 if you are coming from the Atlanta area. It’s about 15 minutes from both interstates.
For more information, visit: www.roeblingroad.com. They have some great information about the track and the general area of Savannah.
If you can make some extra time available before or after the event, a trolley tour of downtown Savannah will show you some of the history and a few of the historically significant buildings.
At the I-95 Pooler exit is the Mighty 8th Airforce Museum. You'll want at least an hour or two... maybe more!
Lodging
There are a large number of major chain hotel/motels at the two exits off I-95 closest to the track – exit 102 (Highway 80) and 104 (Savannah airport). Map to "Pooler, Ga." for options.
The hotels at exit 102 include; Holiday Inn Express, Sleep Inn, LaQuinta, Best Western, Quality Inn, Microtel and others. The track is about 15 minutes from this area.
Hotels at exit 104 include; Red Roof, Hampton, Candlewood, Hilton Garden Inn, Fairfield Inn, Hyatt, Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn Express and several others. The track is less than 20 min from here.
Closer towards Savannah will yield a variety of major brand options to smaller boutique properties as well as cozier bed and breakfasts. The drive to the track is a bit longer but downtown Savannah is a great place to visit.
Dining
There are several full-service restaurants as well as fast food options at the I-95 Pooler exit (102). At the airport exit (104) there is a larger selection of nice, new restaurants that have continued to blossom in the last few years.
Not enough can be said about choices in the downtown Savannah area. They range from simple family-run spots to world class and regionally famous restaurants. Some are in restored buildings from over a century ago and some are in gleaming new structures. Savannah is a major southern tourist destination with an amazing variety of high quality cuisine.
My wife says, “skip the warm-up on Sunday morning and have breakfast at Huey’s” 115 E River St, Savannah, Ga. It’s a New Orleans inspired spot right on the waterfront. They open at 8 a.m. but don’t be late for your race after quiet time.
